I do not suppose anyone has a -good- explanation for why my drivers' license picture looks so bad? The learning permit was not this bad!

I wonder if I could image a car..

It's a physical law. All driver's license pictures look terrible. You should see mine, I looked better with the beard.

Would you have to be able to visualize the entire engine?

They have special cameras. It's like reverse airbrushing. Mine is so horrible that my hair actually looks green which doesn't sound bad until you realise that it was brown at the time.

Jamie, nothing can possibly look worse than that beard did.

I still say you should have braided little braids into it.

I am not going to try to figure out how that works, because I already have one headache today.

C'mon, it wasn't that long.

Well, almost. But still.

And you haven't seen my driver's license--I look sort of yellow and I swear my ears are lopsided somehow.

Yellow?

Ew. You would make a very unappealing canary.

However, your ears are lopsided.

Are not. My head's a little tilted in this icon.

Are you sure? Maybe the weight of that beard just made them even again.

I'll have you know that the dwarves were very impressed with how fast that thing grew in.

I think you are mixing up your phrases. "Grew in" and "took over and made itself quite at home" are two different things, yes?

And let's not get into how difficult it apparently is for DMV people to take pictures of people with glasses. It took them _six times_ to figure a way to eliminate all the glare off of my glasses. God forbid they move the camera, no, I had to have my glasses perched totally skewed on my face. As a result, I look like an axe murderer who's ready to go on a rampage.

Doug, you have contact lenses, why did you wear your glasses to the DMV?

The lenses were bothering me a bit that day, as I recall, so I wore my glasses instead.

Oh, now you're just exaggerating. Besides, I couldn't trim the thing--they look about as kindly on trimming of beards as they do, well, shortening of other bits. Gunnar got the funniest look on his face the only time I ever asked about a razor.

You mean she don't already? *ducks the flying fencing equipment* Just as well I ain't gotten the piercings back yet - think I'd blind the camera operator with the reflection otherwise...

Beards are akin to ... prowess? Is that the word? with dwarves?

Well, that can't possibly be true. Doug trimmed -his- beard and he has no problems there.

I think filling out the form is going to be complicated enough for Clarice. It asked for hair and eye color and had no place for 'purple'

Gits. So she'll have to write it in - you'd think that they'd just have a space to write it in now, rather than make you pick a specific colour, considering mutants ain't exactly rare any more...

I suppose the people in charge of the forms have not thought that far ahead.

Maybe we can write to them as HeLiX? Jamie?

Letter writing campaign to the people in charge, perhaps? Maybe writing to the local paper and making people aware of the stupidness of this sort of thing?

And no, this isn't me being all helpful and proactive. You're hallucinating.

Sounds like a plan. And Amanda's letter-to-the-editor idea sounds good too. We're teenagers, we can be all kinds of pest if we put our minds to it.
