Nothing?

Nothing is so disturbing as listening to a teacher petulantly complain because we do not have his perferred flavour of Gatorade. I do not even know what flavour a riptide rush -is-, but we did not have it.

In hindsight, perhaps it is more disturbing to hear him be scolded and told to drink whatever flavour we have by three seperate people in less than a minute.

Well, we DID have Riptide Rush, but - well, some of us working in medlab to prep got thirsty. So, um, my bad.

What is a riptide rush supposed to taste like exactly?

Theoretically? Grape - I think.

Actually? Not sure. I tend to chug down the stuff without worrying about flavor. Comes from a few years of a Red Bull habit.

Oh. Doug drinks that when he has locked himself to his computer doing something. It tastes like someone melted death and put it in a can.

I think I will stick to the flavours that are labeled with fruit types.

But it's horribly efficient Melted Death. Which should come with a warning label saying "Not to be used by telepaths, telekinetics, or precognitives". Because apparently that much caffeine plays havoc with psionic receptors in the brain.

I was told by Dr. MacTaggart once that more than two cups of coffee would affect my precognition, and possibly the imaging power as well, since there is a psionic aspect to that. It would certainly explain Tuxedo the Hutt's invasion of the dorms several months ago.

Though, that does not explain Doug's reaction to it, but I suppose that is some kind of hacker thing. He says it is anyway. Or else that he just does not drink coffee or soda often. I am not sure.

Ah, good.

Someone else with a Red Bull habit.

I usually liked mine mixed with vodka, but that's a Club thing.

And yeah, it's best shotgunned.

Tell me about it. Doctor McCoy's restricted me to the equivalent of one cup of coffee per day while I'm on these meds. Something about interactions being funky with my low biological body weight.

Doesn't bother empaths, though.

I never had a problem using my power while drinking Red Bull.

That is disgusting, Manuel.

.. I know from expierence. If Red Bull tastes of Melted Death, then Red Bull and Vodka is Melted Siberian Death, I suppose.

Tuxedo the Hutt you did on purpose, I thought, to weird me out. Not saying you weren't hopped up then too, though. :) Mini-Faxman was the accidental one, I thought, the little thumb-gnawer.

Don't knock it!

It's great for keeping you on the dance floor, or spinning records until 4AM.

That's what I used it for, anyway.

Since then I've discovered new ways to get the same energy. Empathy is was good for that sort of thing.

Empathy, as I understand it, doesn't work the same way as telepathy. The texts I was reading on it compared it to radio transmission - telepathy mucks with the radio waves, while empathy mucks with the receiver.

Meds? Because of your power?

There is -decent- tea in the kitchen in a box marked "Rice Flakes" - it has less caffiene than coffee, and lasts longer.

Um, not because of my power, no. Other stuff.

We need to work out some kind of official code, I think. Because I brainfarted and thought I'd put my chocolate-covered peanuts in the Rice Flakes box, and got a handful of tea instead.

I got you new tea, though.

It is very different, true.

I remember some of using my power, and I remember what it's like to have my mind scanned by a telepath. I even remember psi-combat with a telepath.

I'm not sure I understand your analogy, but that's OK. The point is that the two are very different.

Nothing is worth Melted Siberean Death.

Which reminds me. We need to take a day and go on a vital fact-finding mission, Manuel.

Talk to Doug? I would think he would be a natural at this sort of thing, codes and suchlike.

Tuxedo the Hutt's initial apperance was deliberate. The unintended invsion of Angelo's room and Dr. MacTaggart's office was entirely accidental.

Mini-Faxman however was, I believe, due to my initial introduction to someone (whose name I shall not mention, but begins with J, ends with x, and has amie Madro in the middle)'s idea of rich fudge. Chocolate has caffiene, you know.

I admit nothing! Nothing!

Besides, it's the peanut butter that's the real secret to that fudge. And also, there's someone living in this house whose name sounds like a cookie, who introduced me to more different brands of chocolate chips than I knew existed. Blame her. :)

That is not an innocent face, Jamie. That is definitly your "I absolutly did not put that bucket of water over your door." face.

Is this why I caught Doug with that bag of white chocolate raspberry chocolate chips and a very guilty expression?

Have you ever...

actually danced until 4AM?

Fact-finding mission? OH! RIGHT! THAT!

Yes, absolutely. This weekend's kind of ugly for me, but maybe early next week?

Until 4AM? No. But then, I am also possess a functional palate, due to not having burnt mine out on Melted Siberian Death.
