While I object to drukenness, because it leads to doing things that are stupid, I am appaled that the punishment for drinking is the same as the one for commiting a far more severe crime, except in length of time.

You may have noticed that I did not post much during the holidays. Busy, and tired, and I have a lot on my mind.

Clairce, you snore when you are drunk. I suppose it makes up for the screaming nightmares though.

I think my New Years resolution is to be more direct, since not doing so has not gotten me anywhere except in trouble, and the more I bottle up, the less I sleep.

The dreams are back, again. The fire ones. I am not sleeping, and they are getting worse if I sleep or not.

There are worse ones too. Giant red eyes, people being shot, Doug dying, teachers being turned into lizardthings...

... I need sleep. Badly.

At this point, I am willing to try anything, except that I am not even sure I want to sleep anymore.

Seeing my friends get hurt and then having it happen, dreaming about people I do not know, and then meeting them is distressing. Very distressing.

I know you draw.. do you play music at all? I find playing piano when I need to clear my head works very well. Just getting it all out does a lot of good. I don't know if similar would help you, but it would be worth a shot, right?

While I cannot speak for the Professor, I would point out that the American criminal justice system also generally assigns sentences which vary primarily by duration depending on the seriousness of the offense, and I suspect that may be the relevant precedent.

I think I may have something which will allow you at least one night of uninterrupted sleep and not leave you too inconvenienced in the morning; although it is by no means a permanent solution, I would consider it a violation of my calling if by action or inaction you were made to endure until such a solution can be found. Shall I bring it up, or would you prefer to come down?

Yes, and it is not even the worst of the dreams.

Not all the ones I have had have happened, so I think it is just nightmares. It would not be the first time that I have had nightmares that just made no sense. After all, Mister Marko doesn't work for Sauron and isn't a giant glowing skeleton.
