How do any of you manage to keep up with one-hundred-and-forty-seven comments? I think my head may explode, though not at all for the normal reasons.

In lieu of commenting to your post, Jennie, welcome to the school. I... would probably have a great many curious questions about probability, but due to a significant number of textbooks that are scaring me to death, none of which have anything to do with math or probability, I will postpone.

Also because I believe my head may explode.

Well, I cheat, personally. :)

Why the heck do you have frightening numbers of textbooks?

You and Douglas both. I think he just reads the ... I do not know. He does something scary when he reads, I think.

Architecture. They gave me a foundations lab this semester, and calculus. I bought my books early to try to get a head start. Doug is going to help me with calculus, and hopefully I will not explode my brain, but the lab frightens me.

Hi. :)

Yeah, I think I gave up about an hour into it, and I had to go take a nap.

*perk* Calculus? I can do Calculus in my sleep. I could give you help if you needed it.

Hopefully Doug has it in hand - he claims he has an advantage in understanding how I learn, but if he cannot manage to make it make sense, I will definitly seek you out.

I should be okay tutoring Angie. She's making way bigger of a deal of it than she needs to, she passed Geometry and Pre-Calc fine with a whole bunch of studying and tutoring.

... On the other hand, have you had DiffEQ or Multivar yet? There's this whole theory on chaos and probability of events and the various 'fractal equations' - it's, well, it's kind of branched off both of those with some other stuff thrown in, I'm trying to use it to see if there's any patterns to Angie's dreams, and I could totally use a fourth or fifth math genius looking at this. Espically if you've already got a native grasp of probability - I mean, Forge and Kitty and Paige are totally brilliant, but a native grasp of probability might help a lot there.

... It is possible I had too much coffee. Hrm.

....yes. On both counts.

Fourth or fifth math genius? There's more of us? Here?

Me and Forge, Kitty, Paige, Doc McCoy - and now you.

We're not all for the same reasons - I've got a power backing me up, Forge too - he's better than I am in some ways, math isn't exactly a language.

Basic calculus is . . . it's weird. It seems like it's way too easy to be math. It's like skipping all the steps and getting the answer by magic or something. 'Course, then it takes a left turn right into Scary Kitty Math, but this is why I'm not going to be taking math in college. :)

Definitely no magic involved. This stuff makes less sense than some of the old cranky languages I was telling you about.

Yeah, I forgot to include the "When I say 'magic,' I do not mean actually channeling mystical energy and getting results, I mean magic in the colloquial sense" disclaimer.

*grins* I figured, but hey, you left me the straight line...

I only have to take the calculus and then I am done and never have to take math again.

I think Doug has gone and found the Scary Math Place, because he has covered an entire page of one of my notebooks with odd equations and he is muttering.

I am going to go shopping now. If he does not come out from this, can you come by and throw a few slippers at him?

Can I throw stuff at him even if he does?

Hello! Right here listening, thanks.

Oh, like you wouldn't just throw it back. :)

149 now, roomie. *grins*

Up for a trip into town? My drive? Find non-head-exploding things to do, like shopping? I've got a new swim suit to pick up.

Please! Anytihng, as long as I do not have to look at this calculus book anymore, or the architecture foundations books.

They are glaring at me in a cannibalistic fashion! Come see!

I suppose no one is going to believe me if I say that I am well certain that I will never have to actually use calculus in my life?

Pfah. Math has this way of working itself into your daily life. You mustn't show fear. Math can smell fear.

You will if you want to go into architecture or engineering, which I assume is why you were carrying around draftsman's tools and a french curve instead of your usual pastels.

I had to get those for my lab next semester.

I suppose at some point it would behoove me to learn to do schematics by hand. But then again... why?

Should I bring a stick to beat them off with so we can make our escape? *grins* Mind if Meg comes along? She caught the word 'shopping' and is making those big adorable eyes at me again. Between your cannibalistic books and my cute furry girl, we're both doomed to shop. ;) And I think we all need a break.

I like shopping, remember?

I am not sure that the shops have any more pink clothing though. Meggan may just have to find another colour. Lavender, or pale yellow, maybe.

I like purple it is my next favrit color after pink.

I write this without the voyce text thing. :) :) :)

Hey, so you did! Someone's been working hard with Shan and Doug, haven't they? :)

I think someone also deserves ice cream at the mall.
