I think that my father must have intercepted my birthday package before my mother sent it, because for once, there was a startling lack of religious material. There is also a distressing amount of food from home, more than I can possibly eat, and good tea. My Papa loves me very much.

Nothing is so odd as to get nice, if a bit somber, hair clips from my cousin. Jean-Phileppe may actally be developing some taste underneath the horrible music and all black clothing. I had so hoped he would grow out of that awful obsession with Bauhaus.

I suspect he is trying to get on my good side - as he also tells me that he may visit in the fall if he can save enough for plane tickets. I apolgize in advance if he does, he really has -awful- taste in music.
