Can't sleep.
Dec. 19th, 2003 01:00 amI'm tired, but I can't sleep. Too many bad dreams, too many dreams I'm worried about.
This is not related to that up there, but I saw this and I thought that .. it would make a good symbol for mutant rights.
I want one. Maybe not in rainbow, but in.. I will have to think about colors. Defintly not rainbow, though.
Pink is out, purple is out.
It would have to stand out, but look nice.
Black? Gold?
.. both?

Date: 2003-12-19 06:03 am (UTC)They need a version for guys. Maybe a pin, or something.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 06:42 am (UTC)Let me know when you decide on colors, then, this is a lot better than my other ideas. :)
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 06:44 am (UTC)Or a logo on a .. baseball hat. It is baseball, yes?
Black and gold would probably be best.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 06:52 am (UTC)Want me to tell Guido about it next time I talk to him? He's good at organizing sneaky memes like this. And we can start it too, but if it pops up in two places at once it'll spread faster.
*grin* It's kind of like the Pilgrim symbol in this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312866623/qid=1071816575/sr=1-10/ref=sr_1_10/002-9780275-5853605?v=glance&s=books), which is one of my dad's favorites. Bet you if it catches on nobody will ever believe we came up with it. :)
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 06:55 am (UTC)Definitly tell Guido. He is not a mutant though, is he? I guess he is just connected?
I bet there are all kinds of things that could be made with the double helix in them that people could wear, too.
I promise, no walking cute doublehelix though. There was enough of that in Jurassic Park, and it was dumb.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:01 am (UTC)He is connected though, yeah. Knows a lot of mutant-friendly people in Minneapolis. Plus he roadies for a club band out there, and I bet if he got them to start wearing double helix stuff it'd catch on pretty quick. (And it wouldn't be a very hard sell because they're secretly an Alison Blaire tribute band.)
Blinky would eat the cute double-helix anyway. :)
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:11 am (UTC)I think the biggest thing is.. it might help people know who is and is not .. mutant friendly.
Blinky would not eat it. He has no teeth.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:16 am (UTC)And, well . . . yeah, to start, but anybody can wear a baseball hat.
Bees don't have teeth, but they still eat things.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:17 am (UTC)I don't know the word for it. Bee mouths.
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:20 am (UTC)And I bet one of the stems on Blinky's u is a proboscis. :)
Re: Either one.
Date: 2003-12-19 07:27 am (UTC)He has eyes. Just eyes. No other organs or parts or bits.
Oh. And feet. He has feet.

I am not sure of the words. The .. people who want to show support for people who prefer the same gender.
(I know gay, but I am confused about is gay is male or female, and .. .. English is confusing, sometimes.)
I did some research on symbols that minority groups use to show support. So I thought that if we used pink or purple or rainbow it would be too close.
Although I guess a rainbow double helix would indicate a gay mutant?
I am babbling.
Re: Not
Date: 2003-12-19 10:53 pm (UTC)A rainbow double helix
Please, do go on. We shall make an activist out of you yet.
