Can't sleep.

I'm tired, but I can't sleep. Too many bad dreams, too many dreams I'm worried about.

This is not related to that up there, but I saw this and I thought that .. it would make a good symbol for mutant rights.

I want one. Maybe not in rainbow, but in.. I will have to think about colors. Defintly not rainbow, though.

Pink is out, purple is out.

It would have to stand out, but look nice.

Black? Gold?

Or a logo on a .. baseball hat. It is baseball, yes?

Yeah, it's baseball. That would be nifty. And a lot more . . . generic, kind of, than the X on the school logo. Something for all mutants, not just the ones here.

Want me to tell Guido about it next time I talk to him? He's good at organizing sneaky memes like this. And we can start it too, but if it pops up in two places at once it'll spread faster.

*grin* It's kind of like the Pilgrim symbol in this book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312866623/qid=1071816575/sr=1-10/ref=sr_1_10/002-9780275-5853605?v=glance&s=books), which is one of my dad's favorites. Bet you if it catches on nobody will ever believe we came up with it. :)

Definitly tell Guido. He is not a mutant though, is he? I guess he is just connected?

I bet there are all kinds of things that could be made with the double helix in them that people could wear, too.

I promise, no walking cute doublehelix though. There was enough of that in Jurassic Park, and it was dumb.

I haven't actually asked him, but I am kinda starting to think that "late growth spurt" doesn't really explain going from "pencil-necked geek" to "bench-presses Buicks in his spare time" in six months or so. But hey, maybe those Charles Atlas programs you see advertised in the backs of old comic books really do work, I dunno.

He is connected though, yeah. Knows a lot of mutant-friendly people in Minneapolis. Plus he roadies for a club band out there, and I bet if he got them to start wearing double helix stuff it'd catch on pretty quick. (And it wouldn't be a very hard sell because they're secretly an Alison Blaire tribute band.)

Blinky would eat the cute double-helix anyway. :)

You know, I never really thought about it, but there is no real polite way to ask "Are you a mutant?" is there?

I think the biggest thing is.. it might help people know who is and is not .. mutant friendly.

I think I can slip it in pretty casually once he stops ranting about how I forgot to tell him who I was living across the hall from. ;) If he watches CNN, anyway. I've been staying off the AIM account he knows me on just to let him build up steam, it'll be funny.

Proboscis, maxillae, and mandibles. Basically a drinking tube, an eating tube, and some pincers. No teeth.

And I bet one of the stems on Blinky's u is a proboscis. :)

Not in a .. trendy sort of way.

But purple and pink are the colors that ..

I am not sure of the words. The .. people who want to show support for people who prefer the same gender.

(I know gay, but I am confused about is gay is male or female, and .. .. English is confusing, sometimes.)

I did some research on symbols that minority groups use to show support. So I thought that if we used pink or purple or rainbow it would be too close.

Although I guess a rainbow double helix would indicate a gay mutant?
