Oh, hooray.

Never have I been -so- glad to be here.

Britney Spears performed in my home city a few weeks ago. Sometimes I think that woman's continuing career is a by-product of some secret mutant power. It must be. There is just no explanation I can fathom for why she is still making records when better artists have practically retired.

Britney sold her soul to the devil like Ariel did to Ursula in the Little Mermaid. what else could explain it?

although, I do have a Dweezil Zappa cover of Hit Me Baby, One More Time that is awesome to dance to.

Britney is just...ick!

That explains a great deal. She's a demon, not a mutant. Of course. ;)

I think I've heard that cover, actaully. It was very not bad.

Britney is .. what is the word, skanky?

Skanky works, yes. Ho-bag also serves. White trash (or just plain ol' trash), etc. There's plenty of words for what she is, none of them flattering.

Her music is indeed crap...

But she does have _a_ saving grace.

She's got nice tits.

Other than that, she's a complete waste of time. And nice tits can be seen on hundreds of women who don't rely on pitch correction to "sing".

I'm not sure the demons would own up to spawning her, actually - some things are just too skanky. ;)

Can you =not= talk about Britany Spears' breasts in my journal please, Manuel?

Ho-bag? That is.. new.

I am not sure I WANT to know what that one means.

Unclaimed bastard child of a demon then?

Oh. Sorry.

Was just trying to have some conversation.

I'll go away now.

You can stop that right now.

Enough of the woe-is-Manuel pity parties. You are not using that passive-agressive -BULLSHIT- - and yes, I know you know and like that particular term very much - on me.

You may want to remember that *I* actually passed Speech this semester.

You will NOT put the blame on -me- that you stepped on a conversational topic I do not enjoy. You will not even imply that it is my duty to keep -you- entertained.

If you want to talk about her breasts, do so in your own journal. NOT MINE.

Actually...

my main goal was just to, I don't know, have a conversation that wasn't "You're an asshole" or "Go away, you diseased leper"? With somebody who isn't Amanda?

Maybe?

OK, so maybe my method of going about it was poor. I've got a lot on my mind.

But I am -trying-.

Less disgusting than I had guessed, more rude. I suppose it is a fair exchange.

You may want to consider that except for my own, and possibly not even those, I have very little interest in breasts.

You are trying, I will give you that. Would you like a cookie?

I suspect you're being sarcastic.

But I would actually like a cookie.

So what _would_ be acceptable conversation material? Music?

The Pastperfect DVDs are marvelous. Some nice shots of the club in the Moulin Rouge. Have you ever been there?

Once, John asked me that question, and I surprised him by saying yes. He gave me a bag of Oreos.

Sadly, I have no Oreos. I do have some raspberry cookies my mother sent me from home, if you really do want one.

I have not seen them yet, but I have been to the Moulin Rouge, but only once, and only briefly. The band that was playing canceled at the last minute.

I have the DVDs in Region 1, if you'd like to borrow them for a while.

And I couldn't eat cookies from home. Even one such as I has standards.

The club inside of Moulin Rouge looked OK to me, but I've never been there. Even _I_ have heard of the movie that was set there a few years back.

And I know nothing about the cinema.

Hey, that reminds me. I was going to remedy that with Shinobi, but he is no longer here. Do you have any recommendations on things I should watch? I have been to the cinema maybe a half-dozen or so times in my life, so there's a lot I haven't seen.

That would be a good way to empathize and connect with my classmates, don't you think?

DVD Regioning is a plague. I would appriciate that a great deal.

Still, if you want a cookie, I would happily give you one. Part of the joy in having cookies is sharing them.

I will have to think on the movie question for some time. I am still being exposed to an endless string of American television shows seemingly about ... spaceships or monsters. There seem to be a LOT of those.

This does not surprise me

Doug seems to be the type who would like such things.

I seem to remember a lot of Mr ... what was his name, Morden? jokes when I wore my grey suit one day.

And since you seem to insist on giving away home-sent cookies, I cannot refuse.

Some of them are suprisingly good. Some are just silly.

Was that the day Doug kept making the little wave-y hand at you? That I could possibly explain.

My mother keeps sending me cookies. I think she is hiding Communion wafers in them in the hopes that they will somehow entice me to believe that I am Joan of Arc reincarnate.

Jeanne d'Arc?

Interesting.

Also, not going there. Is that the right way to say that?

And yes, I seem to recall little hand-wavey motions.

Jeanne d'Arc. Yes. By all means, feel free to go there. My mother already has, more than once.

Besides, it will give me a chance to complain about her latest pronouncement.

In the interest of avoiding nightmares...

I'll continue to Not Go There.

So what did your mother say?

My mother is convinced I am Jeanne d'Arc reincarnate. I am not sure how familiar you are with Catholic religious days, but last Sunday was Pentecost. The day when Jesus' apostles were given the gift of speaking in tongues to preach to the masses.

She drew a 'logical' conclusion that is really quite -cracked-.

Spain is a heavily Catholic country...

so I know exactly what you're talking about.

I'll bet that was ... inconvenient, indeed!

Speaking in tongues, indeed. I trust she knows your boyfriend?

Not only does she know of it, she felt the need to comment on it when I spoke to her Sunday.

It was bad enough when she thought *I* was some kind of prophet reborn. Maybe I should tell her I cannot be Jeanne D'Arc because Jeanne D'Arc died a virgin.

That might solve one problem while creating a dozen more.

But if you need to vilify someone to her, you can always use me for the task. I'm quite used to it by now.

I am still chuckling over your mother's antics. Mine never did any such thing to me that I can recall.

Manuel

I don't know.

Her very latest song is kinda cool. (I'm talking about the newest one, not the really crappy Toxic song.) Not really like her normal stuff. (I'm like totally wondering if it's her guilt song over either Justin Timberlake or because she married someone and then totally dumped them the next day without so much as a sorry. Now that was serious wrongness.)
