Oh, hooray.
Jun. 1st, 2004 01:16 pmNever have I been -so- glad to be here.
Britney Spears performed in my home city a few weeks ago. Sometimes I think that woman's continuing career is a by-product of some secret mutant power. It must be. There is just no explanation I can fathom for why she is still making records when better artists have practically retired.

Date: 2004-06-01 10:15 am (UTC)although, I do have a Dweezil Zappa cover of Hit Me Baby, One More Time that is awesome to dance to.
Britney is just...ick!
...
Date: 2004-06-01 10:22 am (UTC)I think I've heard that cover, actaully. It was very not bad.
Britney is .. what is the word, skanky?

Date: 2004-06-01 06:07 pm (UTC)I am not sure I WANT to know what that one means.

Date: 2004-06-01 06:08 pm (UTC)Her music is indeed crap...
Date: 2004-06-01 11:29 am (UTC)She's got nice tits.
Other than that, she's a complete waste of time. And nice tits can be seen on hundreds of women who don't rely on pitch correction to "sing".

Re: Her music is indeed crap...
Date: 2004-06-01 06:06 pm (UTC)Oh. Sorry.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:11 pm (UTC)I'll go away now.
Manuel
Re: Oh. Sorry.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:14 pm (UTC)Enough of the woe-is-Manuel pity parties. You are not using that passive-agressive -BULLSHIT- - and yes, I know you know and like that particular term very much - on me.
You may want to remember that *I* actually passed Speech this semester.
You will NOT put the blame on -me- that you stepped on a conversational topic I do not enjoy. You will not even imply that it is my duty to keep -you- entertained.
If you want to talk about her breasts, do so in your own journal. NOT MINE.
Actually...
Date: 2004-06-01 06:17 pm (UTC)Maybe?
OK, so maybe my method of going about it was poor. I've got a lot on my mind.
But I am -trying-.
Manuel
Re: Actually...
Date: 2004-06-01 06:27 pm (UTC)You are trying, I will give you that. Would you like a cookie?
I suspect you're being sarcastic.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:29 pm (UTC)So what _would_ be acceptable conversation material? Music?
The Pastperfect DVDs are marvelous. Some nice shots of the club in the Moulin Rouge. Have you ever been there?
Manuel
Re: I suspect you're being sarcastic.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:32 pm (UTC)Sadly, I have no Oreos. I do have some raspberry cookies my mother sent me from home, if you really do want one.
I have not seen them yet, but I have been to the Moulin Rouge, but only once, and only briefly. The band that was playing canceled at the last minute.
Re: I suspect you're being sarcastic.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:35 pm (UTC)And I couldn't eat cookies from home. Even one such as I has standards.
The club inside of Moulin Rouge looked OK to me, but I've never been there. Even _I_ have heard of the movie that was set there a few years back.
And I know nothing about the cinema.
Hey, that reminds me. I was going to remedy that with Shinobi, but he is no longer here. Do you have any recommendations on things I should watch? I have been to the cinema maybe a half-dozen or so times in my life, so there's a lot I haven't seen.
That would be a good way to empathize and connect with my classmates, don't you think?
Manuel
Re: I suspect you're being sarcastic.
Date: 2004-06-01 06:41 pm (UTC)Still, if you want a cookie, I would happily give you one. Part of the joy in having cookies is sharing them.
I will have to think on the movie question for some time. I am still being exposed to an endless string of American television shows seemingly about ... spaceships or monsters. There seem to be a LOT of those.
This does not surprise me
Date: 2004-06-01 06:44 pm (UTC)I seem to remember a lot of Mr ... what was his name, Morden? jokes when I wore my grey suit one day.
And since you seem to insist on giving away home-sent cookies, I cannot refuse.
Manuel
Re: This does not surprise me
Date: 2004-06-01 07:22 pm (UTC)Was that the day Doug kept making the little wave-y hand at you? That I could possibly explain.
My mother keeps sending me cookies. I think she is hiding Communion wafers in them in the hopes that they will somehow entice me to believe that I am Joan of Arc reincarnate.
Jeanne d'Arc?
Date: 2004-06-01 07:28 pm (UTC)Also, not going there. Is that the right way to say that?
And yes, I seem to recall little hand-wavey motions.
Manuel
Re: Jeanne d'Arc?
Date: 2004-06-01 07:30 pm (UTC)Besides, it will give me a chance to complain about her latest pronouncement.
In the interest of avoiding nightmares...
Date: 2004-06-02 07:33 am (UTC)So what did your mother say?
Manuel
Re: In the interest of avoiding nightmares...
Date: 2004-06-02 07:48 am (UTC)She drew a 'logical' conclusion that is really quite -cracked-.
Spain is a heavily Catholic country...
Date: 2004-06-02 09:42 am (UTC)I'll bet that was ... inconvenient, indeed!
Speaking in tongues, indeed. I trust she knows your boyfriend?
Manuel
Re: Spain is a heavily Catholic country...
Date: 2004-06-02 09:45 am (UTC)It was bad enough when she thought *I* was some kind of prophet reborn. Maybe I should tell her I cannot be Jeanne D'Arc because Jeanne D'Arc died a virgin.
Re: Spain is a heavily Catholic country...
Date: 2004-06-02 09:51 am (UTC)But if you need to vilify someone to her, you can always use me for the task. I'm quite used to it by now.
I am still chuckling over your mother's antics. Mine never did any such thing to me that I can recall.
Manuel
I don't know.
