I hope this works this time. My first entry disappeared after I hit "Post". I would very much not like to have to rewrite this again.
I cannot sleep.
So this is probably a very good time to set this journal up. I think that paper and pen is easier for spontaneous writing - but I can change the layout and colors on this, and it has pictures. So I am torn as to which I prefer.
If I understand this right, my classmates can read this. If so - hello!
I am Marie-Ange Colbert. I don't think I saw any of you when I got in last night, but it was somewhat late, and I was absolutly dead in the brain from the plane. Thank the Lord that immigration went well. I heard too many horror stories from Mama and Papa about the stupid American customs agents to not worry, and I was worried for nothing, because I had no problems at all!
This school is huge. It is bigger than my last school, at least. I think I may be biased, though, since my last school was private and small.
And so pretty. I am going to go through so much paper here drawing the grounds. And the mansion. And the gardens.
I have met either two, or maybe three of my teachers. I am not sure if one of the people who picked me up is a teacher or not. He is very young. And I was told my classmates want him to wear a dress! That is ..
That is very funny. And strange. But maybe is it normal? I don't think it is normal. I have never seen American men wearing skirts on television, but then, American television doesn't have mutants either, and I know America has mutants. Or maybe we just didn't get the right kind of imported television shows in Lyons?
Too many questions for an empty stomach. I think I am going to go find the kitchen and see if anyone is having breakfast.
Edit: I need to find a church before Sunday. Reminder to myself so I do not forget.

Date: 2003-05-30 11:27 am (UTC)Man, there's a lot of people here from different countries. Wish I could travel like that.
And no the dresses thing isn't normal, it's just the girls here are warped.
So you draw? That's really neat. :)
Re:
Date: 2003-05-30 12:35 pm (UTC)I had not traveled before outside of Europe. So far, I like America, except for the airport. But I have not seen very much, so my opinion is limited, yes?
The dresses thing is _not_ normal? ..
That's a little disappointing. :)
I draw a little. I don't think I am very good at drawing people or animals, but I am not bad at drawing things. And fish. I can draw fish.

Date: 2003-05-30 12:53 pm (UTC)Aagh, they're importing them, now! :)
I hadn't ever been outside of Kansas before coming here except the time I was the ringbearer at my Aunt Annie's wedding in Ohio, and I was three then, so even just travelling inside Europe is a lot more than I've done. I hope you still like America after your opinion isn't quite so limited.
I tried to draw a bee, once, but it came out looking more like a black and yellow football. American football, I mean, not a soccer ball.

Date: 2003-05-30 12:56 pm (UTC)Although from what I hear, if anyone could wear my skirt from my last school, it would be you. I read that you look good in green.
Actually, probably not. This is the ugliest plaid in France. And Europe. And most of the planet.
*looks marginally more cheerful*

Date: 2003-05-30 01:06 pm (UTC)What things were they going to put people in? Dare I ask?

Date: 2003-05-30 01:14 pm (UTC)And... oh, dear, I think they had pictures but I'm not quite sure where to find them again, right now.

Date: 2003-05-30 01:08 pm (UTC)Maybe I'll hide out with you two when they come looking to cram me into a party dress. :)

Date: 2003-05-30 12:59 pm (UTC)Kurt is very nice. I think you'll like him.
I hope I wasn't why you couldn't sleep...? *looks worried* I didn't think I was doing anything -- so 'twas just the time change, I hope? I had trouble getting used to that at first as well, and I still seem to want to be awake more at night. (I think having porridge at midnight is not helping convince my stomach of the time here, I admit.)
